Why would Apple enable so many major security features that would break a number of the largest and most popular applications on its platform? I can't upgrade to VMWare Fusion 8 Pro without paying $120 USD.
#Bootchamp bless failed el capitan how to#
I have no clue how to disable this feature and use Fusion 7 with Boot camp. There is no "Security Configuration" setting under the Utilities menu. I'll go over everything in full detail as soon as I can finish the setup, but I wanted to get this out there for anyone else that may stumble upon any issues with setting up rEFInd on an updated mac. I re-enabled the boot recovery partition in OSX then tried rebooting into it so I can attempt disable "System Integrity Protection". So, I've recently been working on updating/rebuilding my latest little friend (an 11' MacBook Air) to dual boot the latest OS X, El Capitan, and Kali. (like you would have done the first time you created a Boot Camp VM)Īnyone else having this problem? I can't boot into my Windows development VM now.

I tried this VMWare KB article without luck: īasically close Fusion and delete the Book Camp VM directory, then re-import it from the Boot Camp partition. Press refresh and you should be able to select the partition.

Cannot create the disk '/users/./Boot Camp.vmdk' or one of the snapshot disks it depends on. Execute the following commands: diskpart select disk 0 (assuming 0 is the disk where you created the bootcamp partition) select partition 4 (assuming 4 is your bootcamp partition) format fsNTFS label'Windows 8' (I didn’t use QUICK) exit exit. I can see the Bootcamp partition from Finder, but when I try to start it in Fusion I get an "Operation not permitted. It will work under El Capitan, but you have to disable SIP. I just upgraded to El Capitan, rebooted and tried to fire up my Fusion 7 VMs to make sure everything was ok. Bootchamp does not work with SIP, so Yosemite is the last fully supported operating system for it.
